Are you in Florence? Do you want to find the best and quickest way to reach Chiantishire and become definitely a Chianti Classico wine lover?
You are welcome on a full-day trip to the Chianti region from Florence. For this tour, we have planned everything, so that you can relax and enjoy every single moment of the visit.
Our cozy minibus will pick you up in Villa Costanza, Florence Tramvia 1 terminus. In a few minutes, we’ll reach the Chiantigiana road, the one and only route connecting all the villages of the Florentine and Senese Chianti. Without any doubt, this will be the first thing you’ll learn after this tour. The Chianti Classico wine region is divided between two provinces, Florence and Siena. Our tour will bring you first into Chianti Fiorentino. In a few minutes after the departure of the bus, we’ll have the possibility to see the green and gentle hills of Tavarnelle and San Casciano Val di Pesa.
The first stop will be in Badia a Passignano, where is located a well-preserved monastic complex, called the Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo. Here you will see the harmonious displacement of cypress trees and architecture, both evident traces of human labor during centuries. Entering the art museum inside the abbey, we will admire a few masterpieces from the Reinassance period. The Last Supper, a major painting from Domenico Ghirlandaio, one of the senior painter a young Michelangelo Buonarroti met, stands out among a huge amount of artworks.
Our food and wine tasting first stop will take place in the heart of Chianti Classico. Here you’ll be served a bbq lunch including a typical starter, delicious barbecued meat, and vegetables. Every course will be cooked in the traditional Tuscan way. After the food stop, the bus will pick us up again to reach Radda in Chianti. Radda is a small medieval village in the Senese part of Chianti Classico. The inhabited area is surrounded by woods and harmonic hills, remembering us a few of the most blazoned Tuscan red wines are produced here.
Before taking our way back to Florence, we’ll visit another famous wine cellars in Monteriggioni. The Fattoria di Lornano will be ready to offer us another red wine tasting while introducing us to the cellars. Of course, each wine tasting will be followed by a meal.
