Full Description

If you are curious of local tales and myths and of the history of a famous Italian cheese or also if you want to learn how to cook delicious recipes with gorgonzola cheese, this tour is for you!

You'll visit Gorgonzola as it was about 200 years ago, sharing Serbelloni family tales and gossip. Here you discover the secret origins of the Gorgonzola cheese and how luckily it has reached its actual yummy smelly fame and.... guess what? You will have the possibility to do a special tasting of this squisite cheese, accompanied by local wines that for sure will not disappoint you. The Story: In about 1820 Marquise Busca Arconati Visconti, born Serbelloni, orders to her governess Ginevra to invite to Gorgonzola the most famous food tasters from the most important European courts to taste the cheese bearing the name of the village where it was created, and until that moment had remained hidden only on the tables of the poor, but it is so good that it is high time to promote it to the table of the rich. Do not hesitate, accept the invitation of Ginevra! It will be an occasion to bring you to Lombardy, close to Milan and, who knows, the cheese could indeed be as tasty as the invitation claims.
