After him, many others like Giotto, Francesco Talenti, and Giovanni di Lapo Ghini continued the undertaking. Then, it was all finished in Renaissance times, in 1434, when Filippo Brunelleschi completed the breathtaking dome, called ‘il cupolone’ by Florentines.
