The Boboli Gardens is a historical park in Florence that was opened to the public in 1766. These gardens were originally designed for the Medici, it represents one of the first and most important examples of the "Italian Garden", which later served as inspiration for many European courts. For almost four centuries it was the garden of the residence of the great dukes of Tuscany and for a short period of the kings of Italy.

The family of Medici bought the palace in 1550 and did some work as an interior courtyard, the one of Bartolomeo Ammannati, and they extended the gardens until uniting them with the Belvedere Fortress. This splendid Garden was realized between the XV and XIX centuries and is located on an old quarry that was used to create a theater with grandstand and that served as the stage for the presentation of the first operas of the history.
