Full Description

With this tour you will visit the places where the famous film "The Godfather" was shot, that is the villages of Savoca and Forza d'Agrò, so you can relive some scenes of the film. You will end it all by visiting the beautiful Taormina.

The tour will begin with a visit to Savoca, one of the most picturesque medieval villages in Sicily, included in the circuit of the most beautiful villages in Italy since 2008. This delightful city of art has been chosen as a set of several films of great importance , including "the Godfather", directed by Francis Ford Coppola. You will start right from one of the most important places in Savoca, the Bar Vitelli, and then continue with a walk through the alleys of the town, immersed in an evocative landscape context. You will admire the ruins of an ancient synagogue, a fine mullioned window in pure fifteenth-century style and we will reach the historic center of the country which, according to some historians, has its roots in Roman times. You will visit the Church of San Nicolò, built in the thirteenth century and remodeled in the eighteenth century, a place where some well-known scenes of the renowned cinematographic work were also recorded. You will continue moving to Forza D’Agrò, immersed in the homonymous Valle D’Agrò. During the journey it will be possible to enjoy a breathtaking view and admire the evident traces of an intense and previous agricultural activity of which the valley was home thanks to the presence of terraces. You can also enjoy a beautiful panorama that opens towards the Ionian coast. Here, you will make a small stop to visit the Cathedral Maria S.Annunziata e Assunta, dating back to the fifteenth century, immerse yourself even more in a pure medieval context that exudes Sicilianity in every corner. The tour will end with the free visit of Taormina. Along the main street of the town, Corso Umberto, closed downstream from Porta Messina and upstream from Porta Catania, you will admire the most important monuments: Palazzo Corvaja; Greek theatre; Piazza IX Aprile; Clock tower; The Cathedral Fortress (Duomo); Badia Vecchia; Palazzo Duchi di Santo Stefano and much more. It will also be possible to shop in the exclusive shops that alternate with characteristic craft shops.
