Etna & Taormina

The first stop on this tour is at an altitude of 2,000 m, but on the way up from the city, we will make short intermediate stops at some characteristic points. Our guide will give information regarding the history of the volcano and the Etnean territory, and you will discover the latest eruptions and some ancient extinct craters. From here it will be possible to choose whether to continue trekking through one of the Etna Park Trails, at an altitude of 2000 meters, accompanied by our guide, or to purchase the Etna alta quota option, which will allow you to reach the summit elevations of the volcano (3000 m) by special means and accompanied by a local mountain guide. The excursion will continue with a visit to a lava flow cave with helmets and flashlights. Afterwards there will be a stop at an organic farm, where honey, wines, oils and other typical products can be tasted.
We will then continue in the direction of Taormina, making a brief stop to admire from above Isola Bella, a nature reserve considered the "pearl of the Ionian Sea" for its wild beauty. After lunch (not included in the price) you will devote the afternoon to visiting picturesque Taormina. Along the town's main street, Corso Umberto, closed downstream by Porta Messina and upstream by Porta Catania, you will see the most important monuments: Palazzo Corvaja; Teatro antico (Ancient Theater); Piazza IX Aprile; Clock Tower; The Cathedral Fortress (Duomo); Badia Vecchia (Old Abbey); Palazzo Duchi di Santo Stefano (Dukes of St. Stephen's Palace) and much more. It will also be possible to go shopping in the exclusive stores that alternate with characteristic artisan workshops.
